Visit to the Royal Palace

After visiting the nordiska museum,we caught a tram to visit the royal palace. The royal palace is the official residence of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. The palace consists of 600 rooms and a huge coutyard in the Center. fortunately we
reached right on time to see the whole process of changing of the guards. It was a systematic and a well coordinated process. later we had a guided tour of the jewels of different generations which were on display in the palace. We also had a guided tour of some of the rooms which included the guest room, the guards room, the dinning hall, the party hall and also the kings room. The king does not actually stay in this castle But he has his offices located Here. The palace is used for representative purposes by the King whilst performing his duties as the head of state.

valborgsmässoafton❤

valborgsmässoafton is a festival here in Sweden. We all celebrated it last night, it began with people walking along the street holding a stick with fire and singing traditional Swedish songs. They then light a bonfire and sing songs around it.
Cotton candy, popcorn, coffee and games! A night well spent.
No better way than this to Bid farewell to the winter and say hello to spring!

Nordiska Museum pictures

Here are some of the pictures of the Nordiska museum that we had visted. The museum featured furniture, clothing and lifestyle of the people during the past and on toward the future. The museum had 4 'stages'/floors, each depicting different aspects Like art, Clothing, household and lifestyle, furniture, occupation etc...

Day 6....

A chilly morning today started off with a Swedish literature class. Even though we could not understand what was being said, it was a interesting experience of how classes are held. After class it was time for lunch! pasta and cheese sauce which no one could not like :p
after lunch we had a lecture by Anna Corine on 'Religion in Sweden'. She told us about the religion they follow and other religions that are present in Sweden. She also gave us a brief introduction about the status of the people in sweden and freedom of religion here.
After the lecure,  we all went to the south of Sweden to meet Corin, who was to take us around sightseeing. We walked around the old town and climbed up 130 odd stairs to see a beautiful view of the whole city!!! We also visited a very famous church, 'Katrina Church'. We were going to continue our sightseeing after a 'fika' break but unfortunately we were interrupted by rain. :(
And then it was time for dinner....

ABBA- The Museum

Well.. The Abba Museum was visited on 27th april.
ABBA- The Museum is an interactive exhibition about the pop-group ABBA.
Here ABBA's collected works are showcased in a contemporary, interactive setting.
It was really interesting since we don't have anything of this sort in Goa.
It was a place where we could walk, sing and dance out!
It developed a little more ABBA spirit in all of us :)

Adventurous day ahead...

Looking forward to an amazing day ahead!
We've got a museum and a castle to visit today! After which we find our own way back home! Yay... 😁
The weather is amazing! It's 10° with the least humidity possible so I'm really looking forward to today.
Keep checking for more posts everyday about our visit to Sweden! 😊

Floor ball to begin our day...

Well today was fun! We woke up early and left for school where we had our floor ball match which is a mix of Lacross and Hockey, played indoor. The goals are really small so it even more difficult to score a goal but to our good luck Sir savant scored one (which was the only goal scored by us!) we lost miserably! 9-1 but in the end of it all it's just a game so as long as we had fun it doesn't really matter...

Day 1, Sweden '15

Hälo to Sweden!!
It's our second day in Sweden and 'beautiful' doesn't do justice to the scenery!! 'Huddinge' the small town that we are living in, is 20 minutes away from Stockholm Central.

Before looking around the school yesterday we learnt a bit about the Swedish school system which is actually quite different from our own. The classrooms and other learning facilities were really great.

Post lunch it was time for a visit to 'Skansen', which was built to represent Swedish history along with a few of Sweden's animals. Although the walk around Skansen was tiring it was truly worth the effort with all the beautiful sights that lay before our eyes. A snack at McDonald's and then it was time to part ways as the sun set on our first day in this beautiful place!!:)
