Visit to the Royal Palace

After visiting the nordiska museum,we caught a tram to visit the royal palace. The royal palace is the official residence of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. The palace consists of 600 rooms and a huge coutyard in the Center. fortunately we
reached right on time to see the whole process of changing of the guards. It was a systematic and a well coordinated process. later we had a guided tour of the jewels of different generations which were on display in the palace. We also had a guided tour of some of the rooms which included the guest room, the guards room, the dinning hall, the party hall and also the kings room. The king does not actually stay in this castle But he has his offices located Here. The palace is used for representative purposes by the King whilst performing his duties as the head of state.

  1. You are really lucky to catch the changing of guards ceremony at the Royal Palace. Did you see the guards march through the streets adjoining the palace ? From the pictures at appears that there was sunshine at that time. It adds to the glamour quotient.
