Harbour Day... Day of Lessons

27th April 2017

Sweden is a beautiful country, a land which fulfilled many of our dreams. The capital of Sweden is Stockholm. Stockholm is also the Capital of Scandinavia. It is country rich in art and music.

After the first fun filled days today, we have a day full of lessons. It disappointed me as the word " lessons" doesn't give a good vibe. First impressions can be wrong and I am happy I was proved wrong. As I continued reading the schedule for the day, the word "boat ride" caught my eye and this made me all excited and set for the day ahead.

All meet up at Stockholm central also known as the T- Centralum at 8:30 am.

We are then taken to visit a company at the harbour. The company is called “ Vartahamnen”. We enjoy the traditional Swedish Fika before beginning the session. The lecture consisted talks on the port and its future plans like the environmental goals and onshore power supply. It was an interactive session with complex topics like waste discharge and sky walk explained through presentations and videos.

After the talk, we all head towards the boat. The one thing we all were looking forward to that was the boat trip. It felt cold out on the deck with the wind blowing hard on our faces.

This is followed by lunch at Bromma. We are divided into two groups for our following schedule which included attending lessons.  My group in charge was Martin Martinkov was first led us to class where an English lecture was going on. The class was divided 5 groups and we were told to join each group. It was a fun time as we interacted and each one wanted to know about culture and traditions of respective countries.

The next lecture was in art class where the art teacher showed her students how to use photoshop. She began the lecture by explaining the impact small details have on art. She further quoted " Small details make big difference". The other group led by Axel Svennson first attended economic class and later basketball  training.

In the evening, we along with two of our faculty members, Mr Ashok Dange and Mr Andrew Barreto go to Globen city for the Ice hockey match .The match was between Sweden and Russia where Sweden beat Russia 4-0.

After the fun filled day and nail biting match all returned to their respective houses with their host.
